Wheelchairs and eating popcorn do not mix.
Only a “HI-TECH” zip lock bag let me roll
to my picnic fix!

After a few days of dying every step
among Veterans in that place,
Today’s agony broke my resolve so bad that
a loaner wheelchair was necessary
to finish today’s VA race!
_____
Today’s arthritic bus ride to a
Veterans’ Hospital was in great pain.
Rolling along 4 hours for benefits
let the excruciating hurt wane!
_____
After 4 stupid years in 1967 till 1971
Navy Aircraft vice,
Acceptance of Vietnam War Heroes
in a VA Hospital today was nice!
_____
My bad day ended as my short fuse
blasted two young medical fools.
Both inconsiderate medical snobs conversed and
blocked the door as I rolled toward
their ignorant blab pool!
_____
My loud “Excuse me!” so close made those
young punks scurry and leap.
Looks on their faces convicted them of
“As ye sew, Ye shall reap!”
_____
Looking down on my football lineman mass
gave them no power.
My audience of Veterans completely missed
their glower !
_____
This seated Veteran in a necessary medical appliance,
won the “Make-A-Hole” power trip compliance;
their faces showed “med student superiority”
conquered by patient defiance!
May GOD have mercy on us all?

Lately, I've been jealous of poets
writing about love;
From deep inside, I have not heard
from my dove.

All around us is the inept war on drugs;
Look at frowns on parents' mugs.
______
Violence and gangs create lethal strife;
50% divorce and junk bonds
loosens embrace of husband and wife.
______
Best for your soul is being blessed with
a pregnancy giving you a baby;
For parents, getting into Heaven
is almost never a maybe.
______
Son or daughter, I have no preference;
10 fingers and 10 toes plus algebra
should be the standard reference.
______
You are sometimes blessed
with an unwanted kid;
Training a child to want
their parents' hug
reverses a nasty skid.
______
When a smart kid begins
best forever of
fitting into his home;
Love replaces the
parents slamming their child
into the dust -- unneeded & alone.
______
To Carry, Mario, Jenny, and Ruth;
The pain of losing you is not a fun truth !

Spelling to me is like again hitting a bruise.
How you put words in computers determines
how much with your boss you schmooze.

Most memorable academic success is math.
Spelling was like giving a dirty little boy a bath.
_____
Ever wonder why dedicated educators call it a “Bee”?
A “Quilting Bee” is opposite emotionally to
two lines in a classroom disgracefully.
_____
My Geometry, Spanish and Calculus gave
the Pentagon their sophisticated toys.
I disliked Literature and Marketing Communication ploys.
_____
I tolerated the honor student who was usually last to stand.
The internet told me Susan is a teacher, grand.
_____
Spelling competition with two lines of classmates in a room,
Showed your friends who sat down in doom.
_____
Humiliation was in every step till you sat down.
Spelling Bees are why I became a class clown.
_____
Competition in spelling in grade three,
Did help make a Senior football letterman out of me.
_____
Here is my advice to Susan’s students
about their teacher and what they learn,
Stay in School and any GPA better than 2.5/4.0 allows
fun where you economically earn.
